Linnovate Partners, a leading global asset service provider, recently hosted a successful collaboration event with CPA Australia on June 7, 2023, to discuss the topic of operational due diligence in a rapidly evolving business landscape. The event was held at the CPA Australia – Singapore Division office and was attended by a diverse group of finance professionals from the private equity, venture capital, and investment industry.

The event brought together prominent speakers from the industry, including Henry Lin, Linnovate Partners’ very own Founder and Chief Executive Officer; Martin O’Regan, Managing Director of Solas Fiduciary; Roger Suter, Head of Investor Relations at Northstar Group; Zixiang Sun, Partner at Rajah & Tann; and Robin Tyrangiel, Managing Director Thrive Alternatives, who shared their insights on the topic. The panel discussion was moderated by Jordan Chung, Business Development Manager of CPA Australia.

The focus of the event was on operational due diligence, a crucial process that assesses the risks associated with investment opportunities. Henry Lin commenced the event by sharing the topic of the increasing role of technology in the operational due diligence process. He shared the common challenges in conducting ODD processes and how technology has streamlined and automated various processes including data collection, reporting, workflow management, and fund onboarding.

The panel speakers discussed the key steps and considerations for conducting effective ODD and shared strategies on how to ensure they are meeting regulatory requirements and industry standards as well as exploring its impact on deal negotiations. Attendees were able to gain valuable insights from different perspectives, including the legal aspects of due diligence, the role of the asset allocator in the process, as well as the viewpoint of the General Partner. The attendees raised questions to the panelists at the end of the event and wrapped up the evening with networking cocktails.
